China, officially the People’s Republic of China, is a vast East Asian nation, the world’s most populous (though recently surpassed by India), and the third-largest by area, known for its ancient civilization, diverse geography, and rapid modern economic growth under a communist government, with Beijing as its capital and Mandarin as the official language.
